new pictures

first pictures with new 24-105 f.4 lens.  i love having the ability to zoom out a little more.  a few things i have noticed about this lens:  1.  i thought i might like it a little less because it's an f.4, and i'm used to shooting with an f.1.8, but i'm noticing that i get just as much "blur" with this as i do my trusty old lens.  good!  2.  i am noticing that with this lens there is a definite front, middle, and back ground.  if that makes any sense.  with my old lens either the front was in focus or the back was in focus, but the middle wasn't really an option.  with the new one, i can get the front to blur, the middle to focus, and the back to blur as well.  opens up some new things to play with.

next thing i'm saving for:  a new camera.  there is no point in buying an awesome camera to put nasty kit lenses on, so now that i have some quality lenses, it's time to move up to a better camera.  plus...i'm getting up there on the shutter clicks for my current one.  i fully believe that it will surpass what it is rated for, but still.

enjoy, because i sure did have a great time taking them.
